"...there is one little bone of our body,--one of the vertebrae, if I remember rightly,--which will never decay and turn to dust, but will lie incorrupt and indestructible in the ground until the Last Day: this is the Seed of the Soul. The most depraved have also their Seed of the Holiness that shall one day overcome their evil; their one good quality, lurking hidden, but safe, among all the corrupt and bad." --Gaskell, E.; Mary Barton, chapter 8
Thanx for the fav! O yeah, a lot of my professors and friends are heavily influenced by Witkin. The compositional dynamics of my ink drawing, based on how the figure fills in the rectangle, are similar to some of Witkin's pieces. There's a lot of protruding foot/feet art out there. Honestly, it was not my intention to reference from any artist. It was a section of a Gaskall book that stimulated me to create the art. However, few could deny that Zak Smith's ink pieces had an influence. I just did a drawing, and reacted to what I saw using the ink. I chose to paint using brush and particularly a razor blade because I am interested in defining planes, similarly to my painting in color.
This was just a wordy explanation to clear up any confusion.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article.
In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
