When did it suddenly become cool to hate everything? It's a growing problem, especially in the entertainment world, and no one benefits from an increasingly hard to please, pessimistic audience.

i like your paintings alot, im not trying to criticize you or anything, but some people say painting is a dead art form. what do you think about that? based on your work it seems like painting is your main focus in art.
Well, I think you're asking me, "Is painting a dead art form?"
I'm not targeting your question, but the question itself, because, like you said, it pops up a lot.
In any case, there's a difference between a genuine question and a superficial question. In this case, the inquiry of whether or not painting is alive, is superficial.
So many fueled painters doing amazing work today. There's no way painting's a dead art form.
I make perceptive art. I take this approach because it is just as important as any other art form or style, in terms of feeding the art world organism, because it is a documentation of our cultural context in this unique time in history.
Now if we were to approach the question from a philosophical or theoretical standpoint (based on the linear-Western art history) growth of art, the conversation would be going in circles/back and forth. Thus, it would be senseless to talk about it because we still need to wait and see what art made today withstands the test of time.
That was a lot. I hope I answered your question.
